Halloween Beauty Queen

Is it too late to post Halloween pictures?
I have been so busy/lazy (real bad combo there, y'all) that I have COMPLETELY been procrastinating at every chance I get.
If there is ever a game called "Procrastination", I'd play it so well.

ANYWAYS, moving away from my flaws, I was a psychotic Prom Queen for Halloween!
Some guy that gave candy out said I was a princess, and all my friends/people on the street thought I was Carrie. I eventually had to resort to threatening people with my knife if they called me Carrie one more time.

My radical little brother took all of these (HE IS SUCH A GENIUS, I HATE HIM) and I included the one of the graveyard because it is so perfect and just had all the vibes I was looking for/am still into. Isn't just so dreeeammy?

(Excuse my messy and disgusting room which has just gotten MESSIER AND MESSIER AND MESSIER)

 Letterman cardigan: Forever 21
Blouse: vintage from Etsy
Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt
Shoes: hand-me-down converse

Liquid eyeliner: Hard Candy
Lipstick: Revlon in British Red
I had a nice '50s Americana type look going on. When I walked into play practice, my director said I was a "movie star" and later told me I was beautiful, and I was like AWWW BABIES WHAT'S GOING ON, EVERYONE IS SO NICE TODAY!
Also, my lipstick looks pinky, but it was deep red, I tell you, RED!

 AND...
NEW FAVORITEST THING EVER!
I made myself a ROCKY HORROR PICTURE SHOW OFFICIAL FAN CLUB BUTTON!
EEEEEEEEEKK!
After this, I found out one my sort of friends LUVED Rocky Horror, and we freaked on how PERFECT it all was! ROCKY HORROR BUILDS FRIENDSHIPS!!! (ahahahaha that could be taken a lot of different ways)
I made it with my Badge-A-Minit and the Rocky Horror seal of fan-clubbiness from...

 THIS!
I AM NOW AN OFFICIAL FAN CLUB MEMBER!
MORE EEEEEKK!
It is probably the coolest thing ever, although I believe there should be some initiation or weird Rocky Ritual you have to do instead of "Print a card and you're in the fan club" or something, BUT I'M STILL JUST SO HAPPY, UGH!
If you do, you are an instant buddy of mine.

The next day I was all cute and mod and it was awesome. My uncle actually told me I looked like I came right out of 1965 (AND HE WAS BORN IN THE '60s! GUIZEEEE!), while wearing this, which is probably the nicest compliment I've heard EVVVERRR.
Dress: vintage from Etsy
Tights: Forever 21
Boots: thrifted

Also-- my pins! Rocky makes it's second appearance, and then I wore my Nana's graduation pin from '67 ♡

I also teased my hair, and it looked so good and had great height, but I think teased/ratted/beehivey hair never looks good on cameras, AMIRIGHT PEOPLES?
So I attempted (failed) to capture it in like 20 pictures, some of which are down below.

 Glasses: A.J. Morgan
And my superrrr cute glasses that make me look like Johnny Depp when he was Willy Wonka.

I hardly took any pictures of myself while on my Thanksgiving trip, but I took this one on INSTAGRAM on the way home! It's like, my favoritest picture of me EVER. It reminds me of Tavi's pictures, and pretty vintage nostalgia and ~teenagedom~ and everything.

Finally, babes who read this--- I'm trying to make one (maybe two if Y'ALL LUCKY) blog posts per week, so everyone keep your peepers on the LOOK-out! (hahaha eyes and look, get it hahahaha I make bad puns) (I'm so tired, I think I'm lacking coherency) (hahaha) (shut-up, now)

Good Internet Stuff!

 Helloooo, all!
I've decided to start a semi-regular bloggy feature: Good Internet Stuff! (The name kind of sucks, BUT I WASN'T FEELING VERY CREATIVE, I'M SORRY). So, herrrreee we go...

I read this really interesting post by With Love and Swallow about how Here Comes Honey Boo Boo is portrayed vs. things like Jersey Shore and what it means. Although I don't watch Here Comes Honey Boo Boo (and I think pageants are absolutely disgusting) it was a really fantastic and got me thinking about ~stuff~.

Although I'm sure everyone and their dog has read this Tumblr quote that's been going around, I think it's effing brilliant. I think we really romanticize hurt and pain in our culture and movies, and this quote just totally sums it up.
And who made it?!?! (If you're reading this, you're a genius) I'm assuming some poo-head removed the source, because Tumblr people do that (TRUST ME, I KNOW. Whoever removes my Tumblr sourcies, YOU SUCK). SHOW YOURSELF, TUMBLR QUOT-ER! I will receive you with open arms!

I just found the adorable jewelry store Me & Zena! Everything she makes is like, SO CUTE AND AWESOME AND ORIGINAL. I love it! Especially this Love-o-Meter Necklace, which is totally gonna be on my Christmas list.

Although everything at Rookie is awesome, I really loved this post by Jenny. It actually helped me realize how much I lie about my feelings when I feel like crap, and I feel like it's something a lot of people do and don't realize. THANK YOU, JENNY, for you helping me make major life improvements!

Hanging Rock Comics is like, majorly radical. READ TAYLOR-RUTH'S STUFF. She's freaking hilarious and awesome, and everything of hers makes me want to DRAW and stuff. ROCK ON, TAYLOR RUTH, YOU RIGHTEOUS BABE.

I know this came out in September, but this Rookie photo shoot by Erica  is still perfect. Sometimes I need to chill out and get away from the cold weather and the world's mean people, and, CHELLO, this is a fantastic way to feel like it's summer and give you some awesome style inspiration. Like, DAYUM, I need to get myself a pink beehive!

Chrissy, Truth or Dare?

Soooo, I recently watched Now and Then (1995) for the first time EVER.
OMGOMGOMGOMGOMG.
IT WAS SO FANTASTIC AND FUNNY AND HAD PERFECT STYLE AND FRIENDS AND SUBURBIA AND SEANCES AND ADVENTURE 'n' everything that makes a movie GOOD.
How did I spend all 14 years of my life without ever watching this movie?! WHAT ELSE IN MY LIFE HAVE I BEEN MISSING OUT ON? Dude, stuff like this just makes you WONDER.

Anyways, it basically centers around four really old friends (Melanie Griffiths, Demi Moore, Rosie O'Donnell, Rita Wilson) who are reuniting after several years of being apart and after their lives have all taken different directions.
The summer of 1970 is like, when everything CHANGED for them, so Sam (played by Demi Moore) tells us about that MAGICAL summer where they kissed boys, tested their friendship, held seances and ~found themselves~ and everything. It's all told in flashbacky retrospect, with younger actress playing the kiddy versions of their older selves.

My favorite kind of movies are movies that are made in the '90s/'80s and are all about the '50s/'60s/'70s. They're all nostalgic and pretty, and the '80s and '60s are two of my favorite decades, SO, CHELLO, IT'S LIKE A MIXING OF BOTH? Hell yes, I'm in. AND THIS MOVIE HAPPENS TO BE ONE OF THOSE. So, I think it might have been made for me?

The younger actors (Thora Birch, Christina Ricci, Ashleigh Ashton Moore, Gaby Hoffman) are seriously talented. The '90s/'80s had a never-ending supply of really talented kid actors, most of which are now not famous/addicted to something/dead, which is so sad, BECAUSE I LOVE THEM ALL. The older actors in the movie feel a bit stiff and weird and really aren't as good, but IT'S STILL A PERFECT MOVIE.

And the style is that movie is like, the best. Seriously.

AHH! The scene where they go swimming is, like, radical. It's all summery and fun and UGH THEIR CLOTHES I'M CRYING.

I will KILL someone for Chrissy's raincoat. Look at it! Clear plastic with pink detailing! WAS THERE ANYTHING EVER MADE THAT WAS MORE PERFECT?!

Other perfect thing about this movie: THE ROOMS! Look at Roberta's curtains! Teeny's framed pictures of Jayne, Audrey, and Marilyn! The pink walls! The clock! Chrissy's pinkness! The general aesthetic! I'm dyyyying over here from all the ~vibes~.

When I was 10 or 11, I was Chrissy. Minus the fact I wasn't so totally naive, she is the perfect embodiment of my past, 10-year-old self.
Plus, look at her hair/clothes. This girl rocks. ILY, CHRISSY.

This scene is fantastic. Now I just wanna ride around with my girl gang and sing "Knock Three Times"! IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK? Also, umm this movie has one of the best soundtracks ever. Because of this scene, I am now obsessed with "Sugar Sugar" and "Knock Three Times" and big '70s hits.

Reason #1929994894 to love Now and ThenJaneane Garofalo. If you read my blog a lot (or maybe at all), you probably know I'm OBSESSED with Vickie Miner (Janean Garofalo's character) from Reality Bites. So, yeah, I died when I saw she in this! Plus, HER CLOTHES/HAIR/MAKE-UP! PERFECT, JANEANE! Now my new life goal is to open some fortune telling shack place, name myself Wiladine, become the town weirdo, and call everyone "boys". Totally gonna be me at 20.

This is basically my whole Polyvore take on the whole deal, complete with Archies/Tony Orlando records, a vintage Cosmo and ~flower power~ patches! Yay!

So, loves, Now and Then is amazing. Incredible. DA BEST. WATCH IT, NOW if you want to have a fun time with great acting and pretty clothes and fantastic music
